Polarbeers – New Revolution

Polarbeers – New Revolution
Self released – 2016
Rock, Grunge, Alternative, Stoner
Rated: ****

The Italian outfit Polarbeers has been going through the motion of line-up changes ever since the band started out somewhere around 2007, as we have mentioned before. Well, after getting involved with the Rockin’ 1000 gang that did the Foo Fighters thing, you know, getting the Dave Grohl band to play at Cesena, Italy by performing Learning To Fly with an amazing amount of artists. The Polarbeers found new inspiration and new members. And as a quartet started recording the new album called New Revolution. Their ear pleasing mixture of grunge, rock, alternative and stoner still stands tall but is much more layered and even more diverse than before. It has perhaps become less punky than their earlier roots, but definitely as varied. They turn down the loudness quite a lot, but those more quieter moments are damn fine executed and gives the record something that binds it all together. Something that might serve like an excellent soundtrack for a long drive through the country. Which makes the New Revolution album one hell of an entertaining ride.
